Charles B. Winslow, Jr., 66, of Lawrence Point, Fourth Lake, Old Forge, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, April 17, 2019.

He was born on August 20, 1952 in Utica, the son of Charles B. and Theresa (McNally) Winslow, Sr. Charlie was a graduated from the Town of Webb School and attended Utica College for business. Charlie owned and operated the Steak House Restaurant in Thendara since 1971.

Charlie was an avid golfer and longtime member of Thendara Golf Club. He was a fan of Syracuse University sports, the NY Yankees and NY Giants. Charlie was a member of the Son of the American Legion and attended St. Bartholomew’s Church. He was a frequent supporter of numerous local organizations.

Planning ways to bring family and friends together was one of Charlie’s greatest pleasures. He organized golf outings with family and friends; holidays, special events and our weekly “Sib” (sibling) dinners at Mom’s. Charlie was a true friend and family man.

Surviving are his mother, Theresa Winslow, Old Forge; sisters, Margaret and Robin Montgomery, Diane Gaige and Barbara Winslow, brother, David Winslow, all of Old Forge; brother, Edward “Spin” and Debbie Winslow, Tonawanda, NY; aunt, Sophie Roffe, Old Forge; sister-in-law, Laurie Worden Winslow, Port Leyden and nephews, John and Sarah Winslow, Inlet and Ryan and Jocelyn Winslow and their children, Ezra and Skylar, Salt Lake City, UT, He is also survived by Damian Worden, Port Leyden, whom he mentored like a family member at the Steak House, dear friend Jan O’Connor and his Restaurant family and loyal customers. He was predeceased by his father, Charles; brother, William; nephew, Adam; brother-in-law, Chris Gaige and aunt, Bea McNally.

The Winslow family wishes to extend their gratitude to the Old Forge Ambulance Corp. for their immediate response, care and compassion. We truly appreciate the outpouring of support from the whole community.

In lieu of flowers, please consider donations to the Old Forge Ambulance Corp. or any local community organization of your choice.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Funeral Mass on Saturday, May 18th at 11, St. Bartholomew’s Church, 103 Crosby Blvd., Old Forge. Interment will follow in Riverview Cemetery for both Charlie and his brother, Bill. Arrangements are with Dimbleby Funeral Homes, Inc., 128 Fern Ave., Old Forge.
