Obituary for Donald F. Loson

Donald F. Loson 1936-2019
Old Forge:

Donald F. Loson, 83, of Old Forge, passed away April 22, 2019.

He was born, January 10, 1936, in Lowville, NY, a son of Nelson and Leona Nosher Loson. Don graduated from high school in Lowville, and proudly served in the United States Navy, from 1955-1958, aboard the USS Sullivans. He married Joyce Falmon in 1956. Mr. Loson worked at Spencer Reed’s Service Station in Lowville, and at General Telephone, retiring in 1995. He, along with his wife and son, owned and operated Don’s Polaris Sales & Service, in Old Forge. Don was a member of the Northwoods Snow Travelers.

He is survived by his wife, Joyce; son, James (Jamie) Loson of Old Forge; brother, Stanley (Carol) Loson of Florida; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, and his brother, Bruce Loson.

Calling hours are Friday, May 3rd, from 5:00-7:00 p.m., at Dimbleby Funeral Homes, Inc., 128 Fern Ave., Old Forge, NY. Graveside services, with military honors, will be Friday, May 24th, 11:00 a.m., at Old Glendale Cemetery, with Fr. James Seymour, officiating.

In lieu of flowers, please consider memorials to the Old Forge Fire Dept. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
